Spending a semester or year abroad is a powerful learning experience. You will gain a wider, more informed viewpoint, maturity, and new coping skills. These experiences will impact your life AND appeal to potential employers. Students find the experience particularly invaluable for career preparation and foreign language comprehension.
More from NAU's Center for International Education:
Become a global citizen!
Imagine yourself taking classes at one of the oldest universities in Europe. Imagine yourself experiencing one of the world’s fastest growing economies in Asia. Imagine yourself doing your homework at the foothills of an ancient volcano in Latin America. Imagine yourself becoming part of a different culture and language. Imagine yourself as a global citizen.
The office of Education Abroad not only serves as a center for students wishing to go for a semester or year abroad, but also acts as a support for research, internships and service learning abroad. This is what makes us different than a regular study abroad office.
Many Northern Arizona University students take advantage of this unique experience every year and we want you to get a piece of the action. Don’t delay it any more! This is the ultimate experience and is real. It is experiential and transformative learning, learning that integrates class time, travel, and field study to create a round-the-clock education experience.
The Center for International Education has various study abroad information sessions throughout the semester, so make sure you attend one if you can. If you can’t, we have study abroad advisors available to help you with the entire process of studying abroad, from application procedures, paying fees, recommending courses, helping you get housing abroad, obtaining a passport, transferring the courses back to NAU, and many others! We will help you with the entire process, from the day you walk into our office to the day you return from your study abroad experience. Just come in and ask to meet with a study abroad advisor. No appointment is needed.
Don’t want to go alone? No problem. With many NAU students now choosing to go abroad it’s very likely another student will be going with you to your program. Or simply sign up with one or more of your friends, even if they’re not NAU students!
Did you know that when you attend an NAU-approved program…
