Internships are an outstanding form of “education by experience." They are gold mines for building job and life skills, exploring possible career directions, and adding to your network of contacts. They are highly desirable entries on your resume, and they occur in so many different settings that you will likely find one to match your special interests. Our students have learned in all these settings and more: state legislature, non-profit organizations, private law practices, environmental groups, political campaigns at national, state, and local levels, lobbying organizations, international government and organizations. All formalized intern experiences are eligible to earn academic credit. In addition, some internships include a stipend, so you may be paid to learn!
Please contact your faculty advisor or one of the department's internship coordinators for more information and/or assistance.
