Chair's Innovation Fund |
| The Chair's Innovation Fund is used to support new student, faculty, and departmental initiatives. Some items recently funded items include receptions and new technology to record department events and to keep in touch with department alumni and friends. Your support of this fund means the department can continue to pursue new, innovative, and creative ways of meeting student and faculty needs. Help support creative endeavors by giving to the Chair's Innovation Fund. |
Earl Shaw Memorial Scholarship |
| This scholarship honors the memory of L. Earl Shaw, Jr., a Political Science faculty member who passed away in April 2002. Dr. Shaw had a strong belief in human potential, and he encouraged his students to strive to achieve their own greatness. Eligibility: NAU undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Political Science who has completed 6 hours in POS and at least 2 semesters of coursework at NAU; GPA at least 2.5 although preference given to applicants with 3.0 GPA or better; demonstrates financial need. Award typically given to undergraduate students majoring in POS, IA, or APS. Applicants must submit a short description of their efforts to achieve a college education and plans for completing the program. |
Theodore Wyckoff Scholarship |
| This scholarship honors the memory of Theodore Wyckoff, a Political Science faculty member who passed away in 1993. It is available to International Affairs majors and Political Science majors with an international emphasis. (American Political Studies majors not eligible.) Eligibility: minimum 3.0 GPA, extracurricular activities and involvement, and must be enrolled for the following fall and spring. |
Political Science Scholarship |
| This scholarship, also known as the William L. Strauss award, is available to all Political Science, International Affairs, and American Political Studies majors, although most frequently awarded to POS or APS majors. Eligibility: NAU student who has completed two semesters at NAU, 6 hours of POS, and a good academic record. |
Jack and Ruby Vaughn Internship Scholarship |
| This scholarship, established in 2000, is only available to a Political Science graduate student. Eligibility: degree-seeking student admitted to the NAU Political Science program who has completed at least one semester as an admitted POS student, at least 3.0 GPA, and a pre-arranged internship. The department may, at its discretion, make an award to more than one student, however this is dependent upon the amount of funding available, which varies year to year. |
